PECOVER v. ELECTRONIC ARTS, INC.

Electronic Arts Inc. (EA), a video game company, entered a series of exclusive licenses with the National Football, National Football League Players’ Association, National Collegiate Athletics Associations, and Arena Football League.

The plaintiff class (all those who purchased football video games from EA) alleged the collection of license agreements restricted competition among football video game makers. This in turn resulted in an inflated price for specific football video games.

Econ One determined the damages suffered by class members and estimated the impact of the exclusive licenses on game prices and product life cycle.
